Thank you for your e-mail. I wouldn't expect the battery to last more than 2-3 days, I'd be extremely surprised if any battery, original Samsung or otherwise would last anything like 11 days. The batteries we supply come from a manufacturer who supply batteries for many of the big brands such as Energizer and Duracell as well as OEM batteries for many other manufacturers so it's not a question of quality or having to pay more for a genuine battery, manufacturer's quoted standby and talk times are, in my experience, incredibly optimistic. I worked for many years in the mobile phone industry and came across this issue repeatedly, phone spec sheets quote one figure and actual achieved figures are altogether different, this is probably due to testing under optimum conditions, perhaps with continuous full signal strength and no use, in reality the phone signal flutuates all the time and the phone works harder in a poor signal area to maintain reception which in turn is detrimental to battery life. Any use at all will also dramatically reduce the battery time from this optimum, laboratory conditions type figure. 10 years ago phones were bigger, therefore the batteries were bigger and of a much higher capacity than the tiny modern batteries, the phones had fewer features and black and white screens so there was far less drain on battery life, many of these older phones are still battling along and we sell batteries for them which may last a week between charges but I wouldn't expect to achieve this sort of performance from a modern much lower capacity battery such as is fitted to your phone.

I have just spoken to Samsung who say their battery should remain charged on standby for 270 hours or approx 11 days .
this battery seems to be lasting about 2/3 days - hence my question to you.
Sorry to be a pain as I realise you must be very busy - maybe the difference is that the official Samsung battery for this phone as a replacement is about £36!
I would be interested to hear your views - if you can spare the time
